Windows includes tools that can make reading, writing and screen use easier. These are useful for lots of students, not only students with a formal access arrangement.
Useful shortcuts
- Text size and zoom: use Settings, Accessibility, Text size or press Ctrl + plus in many apps.
- Magnifier: press Windows + Plus to zoom in, Windows + Esc to close Magnifier.
- Dictation: press Windows + H in a text box.
- Narrator: press Ctrl + Windows + Enter to turn Narrator on or off.
- Colour filters: open Settings, Accessibility, Colour filters.
Ask if you need a setting changed
Some accessibility settings may be restricted on a managed laptop. If a setting would help you learn, speak to your form tutor or learning support staff.
