Updates keep your laptop secure and reliable. A restart is often needed before updates fully apply.
Before restarting
- Save your work.
- Close documents and browser tabs you no longer need.
- Make sure the laptop has enough battery or plug it in.
Restart properly
- Select Start.
- Select the power icon.
- Choose Restart.
Do not hold the power button to turn it off unless the laptop has completely frozen.
